Tow Truck Driver and Customer Safety
Course progress overview
On average, there is almost one fatal accident involving a Tow Truck Driver per workday in the United States. While some of the factors that contribute to Operator injury are outside of Emergency Responders’ control, there are steps you can take to reduce the chances of injury to yourself, and to the stranded motorists you assist.
Upon successful completion of this course, a Tow Truck Operator will be able to:
- Identify potential causes of injury to him/herself and others while en route to, working at, and departing from the scene.
- Explain how to position a Tow Truck in the safest manner while conducting towing operations.
- List his or her responsibilities for securing the scene, removing debris, and other duties.
- Suggest proactive ways to work with other Emergency Responders at the scene.
This training will require approximately 30 minutes to complete.
