Roadside Inspections
“An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure.”
Have you ever made an entirely preventable mistake? How did you feel as you dealt with its consequences, knowing a few moments of care beforehand could have kept it from happening?
When it comes to operating a Commercial Motor Vehicle (CMV), your Pre and Post Trip Inspections are precisely those moments that keep terrible mistakes from happening. In this series of lessons, you will learn:
i) Exactly what to expect from each level of DOT roadside inspection, should you be stopped by an officer.
ii) The paperwork and record keeping items you need to have in your cab, or on your person, when operating a CMV.
iii) Why Out of Service violations are the worst-case scenario for you, and your company.
iv) How to evaluate all of the systems on your vehicle that are of interest to a DOT officer during a roadside inspection.
This course will require approximately 2 hours to complete. It is divided into four segments, which can be completed one at a time, or all at once.
During this course, checklists and other materials are mentioned. These are available to your company through eRisk Solutions – please contact your manager for more information. They are not required to complete the course.
At the end of the course, you will be asked to complete a quiz – the only question is a YES/NO answer about successfully completing this course.
Once you have completed the quiz, you will be marked as having completed the course.
